Final Touch

About ME

ABOUT ME

Born in Port-Au-Prince but groomed in Petite Riviere de Nippes, Haiti, Final Touch migrated to the U.S. at a very young age. With his first couple of years  being in New York, he immediately fell in love with Rap music. Some of his favorite artists and groups at the time were Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, Heavy D and the Boys, Salt N’ Pepa, and many more. While he loved Rap, it wasn’t the only flavor in his ear. He also found himself singing along to other types of music such as Rock & Roll and Soft Rock, which was huge in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

Eventually, Final Touch moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he finished  elementary school and proceeded with his schooling all the way to college. While in high school, he formed a couple of music groups with some friends for rapping and deejaying. He had an equal amount of love for both. He actually first started deejaying by recording music onto cassette tapes from his favorite radio shows. He would then use these same tapes to create his own mixtapes, which he would eventually share with some of his family and friends. At this point his love for music had spread to a number of popular genres such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Soca, Reggaeton, POP, and more. He never left the house without a couple of mixtapes in his pocket…just in case.

While in high school, he deejayed at a number of parties and performed at a number of talent shows where he was a known favorite with is group of friends. In college, Final Touch decided to take his music aspirations a little further. He decided if he was going to make music, he would need beats. So he saved up enough money to buy himself an MPC2000XL midi drum machine. Besides being an artist and deejay, he was now going to be a music producer as well. While in college, he took a Digital Audio Production course as an elective, which pleasingly allowed him access to the school music studio. He had teamed up with another group called Damn Good Productions where he was the lead artist, lead producer and engineer. During this time, Final Touch, at the time named Mr. Lag, had a show almost every weekend with his newfound crew.

At the peak of groups’s existence, Mr. Lag and some other members of the crew dropped out of Damn Good Productions, and Final Touch continued doing what he did best and resumed his music under his own production name, RunDem Productions, which initially was a DJ crew formed between him and his best friend Ra-Wu. But now RunDem Productions, also known as RDP Music, would consist of a number of rappers, singers, led by lead producer/engineeer Final Touch A.K.A. Mr. Lag. Over the years, Final Touch has hosted a number of radio shows where he also deejayed, and he even started his own online radio station. Today, he is back on a quest to re-introduce himself as a versatile artist touching on a number of genres such as Hip-Hop, Reggae, R&B, Soca, Reggaeton, Kompa and more. While Final Touch has recorded a number of songs and created a number of beats, he never actually officially released anything. So he has decided to share some of his versatility with the world.
